RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --?The most recent expansion of North Carolina's electronic high school transcript service through CFNC.org to all 27 public high schools in Guilford County now brings coverage to 100% of students in North Carolina's public schools.?Students can simply complete an online request on CFNC.org, and the system pulls the most recent information from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction's database to deliver to any of the 110 college and universities in the state.? The system also allows students to view on a single web page all of their requests and track delivery information for each college.? The service is free for students, schools, and colleges.

"The Department of Public Instruction is committed to making the high school transcript as accessible as possible so that the college application process is as straightforward as it can be for students and the colleges and universities to which they apply," State Superintendent June Atkinson said. "More students than ever are graduating from North Carolina public high schools and we want to make sure that the path to further education is as smooth as possible."

The Transcript System was first launched by CFNC in 2003 to offer public school students from 41 pilot high schools the capability to request secure delivery of their electronic high school transcript either when applying online or directly from the CFNC.org Transcript System.?The number of participating high schools has steadily increased to 528 and includes North Carolina public, charter, and early college high schools.

Since 2003, CFNC.org has securely delivered over 967,000 electronic transcripts to all 110 CFNC participating colleges and universities.? The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction estimates savings to schools at approximately $4.62 per transcript.

NC's Transcript System has received national attention for the number of students served, strong collaboration between educational partners, speed of delivery to campuses (now less than 24 hours), and because the transcript file format allows for direct importing of data into campus student information systems.
