1. Monopoly

In 1934, in the midst of the Great Depression, an unemployed heating engineer from Pennsylvania created the game of Monopoly. Operation has been a family game since 1965.

Clue was originally published in England in 1949.

Trouble was launched in the United States in 1965.

8. Chinese Checkers

Chinese checkers is a board game that can be played by two, three, four, or six people, playing individually or with partners. The objective is to be first to race one?s pieces across the hexagram-shaped gameboard into ?home??the corner of the star opposite one?s starting corner?using single-step moves or moves which jump over other pieces. Others keep playing to establish 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and last place finishers. Like other skill-based games, Chinese checkers involves strategy. 9. Candy Land

I played this game for hours and hours as a kid. Playing with my stuffed animals meant I won every single time!

The game was designed in 1945 by Eleanor Abbott, while she was recovering from polio in San Diego, California. The game was bought by Milton Bradley Company (now owned by Hasbro) and first published in 1949.

The race is woven around a storyline about finding the lost king of Candy Land. The board consists of a winding, linear track made of 134 spaces, most red, green, blue, yellow, orange or purple. The remaining pink spaces are named locations such as Candy Cane Forest and Gum Drop Mountain, or characters such as Queen Frostine and Gramma Nutt. ? Wikipedia

10. Chutes and Ladders

Chutes and Ladders was introduced in America in 1934 by Milton Bradley.?Do a good deed, climb a ladder and advance in the game. Do a naughty deed and slide back down the chute, losing spaces in the game. With no reading required, this game helps children practice counting and learn valuable lessons about good deeds.

There is also some other versions such as Sesame Street and Spider Man.

11. Connect Four

The game was first sold under the famous Connect Four trademark by Milton Bradley in February 1974.

Twister first became a success in 1966 when it was played on The Tonight Show, yes with none other than the amazing Johnny Carson. There was also quite a bit of?controversy?surrounding the game as some felt it was inappropriate. Interesting.
